Pokemon Conquest

Pokémon Conquest is a tactical role-playing game developed by Tecmo Koei and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS handheld gaming console in 2012. The game is a crossover between the Pokémon franchise and the Nobunaga’s Ambition series of strategy games. In Pokémon Conquest, players control a Warlord who must conquer and unite the Ransei region while also befriending and training various Pokémon. Battles take place on a grid-based battlefield where players must strategically position their Pokémon and use their unique abilities to defeat their opponents. Pokémon Conquest features over 200 Pokémon from various generations and includes a variety of game modes, including a story mode and multiplayer battles.

Story

The story of Pokémon Conquest revolves around a young hero or heroine who is tasked with uniting the Ransei region. Ransei is a land divided into 17 kingdoms, each ruled by a powerful Warlord and their respective Pokémon. The hero must traverse the land, battle other Warlords and conquer their kingdoms to become the ultimate ruler of Ransei.

Along the way, the hero encounters a mysterious woman named Oichi, who is searching for her missing brother, the Warlord Nobunaga. The hero and Oichi team up and eventually discover that Nobunaga is planning to use the legendary Pokémon, Reshiram, to conquer all of Ransei and bring about a new world order.

To stop Nobunaga, the hero must defeat his powerful army of Warlords and their Pokémon, as well as recruit new Warlords and Pokémon to their cause. As the hero’s army grows stronger, they face off against Nobunaga’s forces in an epic battle to determine the fate of Ransei.

Ultimately, the hero emerges victorious and unites all of the kingdoms under their rule, bringing peace and prosperity to the land. In the game’s post-game content, players can continue to explore Ransei and recruit new Pokémon and Warlords to their army, as well as engage in multiplayer battles with other players.

Gameplay

Pokemon Conquest gameplay

The gameplay of Pokémon Conquest combines elements of the Pokémon franchise and the Nobunaga’s Ambition series of strategy games. Players control a Warlord who must conquer and unite the 17 kingdoms of the Ransei region, each ruled by a powerful Warlord and their respective Pokémon.

The game is divided into two main modes: the overworld mode and the battle mode. In the overworld mode, players explore the various kingdoms of Ransei and interact with other Warlords and Pokémon. They can recruit new Warlords and their Pokémon to their army, build and upgrade facilities, and engage in various side missions and battles.

In the battle mode, players engage in grid-based battles against other Warlords and their Pokémon. Each Warlord can bring up to six Pokémon into battle, each with their unique moves and abilities. Players must strategically position their Pokémon on the battlefield and use their moves to defeat their opponents.

The game features a rock-paper-scissors-style type matchup system, where each type of Pokémon is strong against some types and weak against others. Players must also consider the terrain of the battlefield, which can affect the performance of their Pokémon.

As players progress through the game, they earn experience points for their Pokémon, which can level up and evolve. They can also earn money and items, which can be used to upgrade their facilities and strengthen their army.

The game also features a variety of special abilities and mechanics, such as the ability to link two Pokémon together for more powerful attacks and the ability to use a Warlord’s special ability to turn the tide of battle.

Overall, Pokémon Conquest offers a unique and engaging gameplay experience that combines elements of strategy and Pokémon battles.
