Pokemon Storm Silver
Pokemon Storm Silver is a ROM hack of the popular Nintendo DS game Pokemon SoulSilver. It was created by a ROM hacker named Drayano and was released in 2011.
The hack adds several features to the original game, including new Pokemon, new moves, and new items. It also increases the difficulty of the game, making battles with gym leaders and the Elite Four more challenging.
In addition to the new content, Pokemon Storm Silver also includes changes to the game’s mechanics, such as the ability to use the Running Shoes indoors and the ability to catch all of the Pokemon from the first four generations of the franchise.
Story
The story of Pokemon Storm Silver is largely the same as the original game, Pokemon SoulSilver. The player character sets out on a journey to become the strongest Pokemon trainer in the region of Johto, battling gym leaders, exploring new areas, and catching new Pokemon along the way.
However, as a ROM hack, Pokemon Storm Silver also includes some additional content and changes to the game’s storyline. Some of these changes include:
- The addition of new characters, including Gym Leaders with different Pokemon teams and Elite Four members with stronger teams.
- The inclusion of Pokemon from later generations of the franchise, allowing players to catch and train new and different creatures.
- The enhancement of the game’s difficulty level, with tougher battles and new challenges.
Despite these changes, the core story of the game remains the same, with the player character working their way through the region of Johto, battling other trainers and collecting badges in order to ultimately challenge the Elite Four and become the Pokemon Champion.
Gameplay
The gameplay of Pokemon Storm Silver is similar to the original Pokemon SoulSilver game, but with some changes and enhancements. The player character navigates through the region of Johto, exploring new areas, catching and training Pokemon, and battling other trainers along the way.
Some of the gameplay features in Pokemon Storm Silver include:
- Pokemon battles: Players can battle other trainers and wild Pokemon using a turn-based battle system. They can use a variety of moves and strategies to defeat their opponents and level up their own Pokemon.
- Pokemon catching: Players can catch wild Pokemon by weakening them in battle and using Poke Balls to capture them. The caught Pokemon can be added to their party or stored in the PC Box for later use.
- Gym battles: Players must battle Gym Leaders in order to earn badges, which allow them to progress through the game. Gym Leaders have different Pokemon teams and strategies, so players must be prepared with strong Pokemon and effective battle tactics.
- Exploration: Players can explore different areas of the game world, including towns, cities, and routes. They can talk to NPCs (non-playable characters), complete quests, and find hidden items and Pokemon.
- Customization: Players can customize their own character by choosing their gender, appearance, and name. They can also customize their Pokemon by giving them nicknames and choosing which moves to teach them.
Features
Some of the features of Pokemon Storm Silver, a ROM hack of Pokemon SoulSilver, include:
- Increased difficulty: The game is more challenging than the original Pokemon SoulSilver, with stronger opponents and tougher battles. This adds an extra level of difficulty and strategy for players.
- New Pokemon and moves: The hack includes Pokemon from later generations of the franchise, as well as new moves and abilities. This allows players to catch and train new and different creatures, and use new battle strategies.
- Revised Gym Leaders and Elite Four: The game features revised Gym Leaders and Elite Four members, with new Pokemon teams and strategies. This offers a new challenge for players who are familiar with the original game.
- Improved mechanics: The hack includes quality-of-life improvements to the game’s mechanics, such as the ability to use the Running Shoes indoors and the ability to catch all of the Pokemon from the first four generations of the franchise.
- Customization options: Players can customize their own character by choosing their gender, appearance, and name. They can also customize their Pokemon by giving them nicknames and choosing which moves to teach them.
- Post-game content: The game includes post-game content, such as the ability to travel to the Kanto region and battle Gym Leaders and Elite Four members from that region. This adds extra gameplay and replay value.
Pokemon Storm Silver ROM Starters
